Onboard the ships

How do I get on to the ferry with my bicycle?

Ports Dublin and Holyhead
Bicycles must be checked in as luggage and stowed in the luggage van. Passengers then board as a foot passenger via the dedicated shuttle bus. Bicycles can be collected at the luggage carousel in the terminal after disembarkation.

Ports Belfast VT4 (to Cairnryan) and Cairnryan
Passengers should check-in as a foot passenger then cycle on to the bottom deck of the ship. Dock or security staff will be available to direct and escort passengers on to the deck. When disembarking, passengers should return to their bicycles on the bottom deck. They then have the choice of disembarking with other vehicle traffic or cycling to the baggage reclaim in the terminal, again directed and escorted by dock or security staff, before exiting the terminal building with the foot passengers.

Ports Rosslare, Cherbourg, Harwich and Hoek van Holland
Passengers with bicycles should check-in as a vehicle then cycle on and off the ship with other vehicle traffic

Port Fishguard
Passengers should check-in as a foot passenger then cycle on to the ship. Dock or security staff will be available to direct and escort passengers on to the ship. Bicycles are stored and lashed on the car deck onboard. When disembarking, passengers should return to their bicycles then cycle to the baggage reclaim in the terminal, again directed and escorted by dock or security staff, before exiting the terminal building with the foot passengers.

Port Liverpool (Birkenhead)
Passengers should check-in as a foot passenger then secure their bicycles onto the bicycle rack provided and board the foot passenger shuttle bus. The bicycle rack is transported separately, with the baggage trolley, on to the main deck by Stena Line staff. Passengers should disembark as a foot passenger and collect their bicycle from the bicycle rack beside the baggage carousel in the terminal.

Fort Belfast VT1/2 Port (to Liverpool)
Passengers should check-in as a foot passenger then secure their bicycles onto the bicycle rack provided and board the foot passenger shuttle bus. The bicycle rack is transported separately, with the baggage trolley, on to the main deck by Stena Line staff. Passengers should disembark as a foot passenger and collect their bicycle from the bicycle rack beside the baggage carousel in the terminal. Owners of very expensive bicycles can ask to travel on the passenger bus with their bicycle and hand it to the Chief Officer for safe keeping in his office rather than keep it on the bike rack.
