Privacy in general
You are advised that some of the data you supply such as name, address, e-mail address and and some booking data are entered in our customer database and may be used for marketing purposes. Stena Line BV has registered its customer database with the "College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens" (i.e. the Dutch office responsible for reviewing if companies maintain the Data Protection Act). Our registration number is 1033354. On the website www.cbpweb.nl you can get details about the contents and use of this database below "Openbare registers"(=public records).
If you would like us to stop sending you marketing communications, we offer simple ways for you to unsubscribe. Please use our contact form. Select the option 'Change of address', enter your full address and e-mailaddress and that you do not wish to receive any communications from Stena Line.
Privacy on the internet

Information in our access log Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the site which we use to make changes to the layout of the site and to the information in it, based on the way that visitors move around it. Log files do not contain any personal information about you or information about which other sites you have visited.
Cookies
Cookies are pieces of data that can be automatically created on your computer when you visit a website. Our booking system uses cookies to guarantee the unique identity of every visitor of our site. These cookies are recorded temporarily (so they are not written to a file) and only contain a 32-bit string to identify you. However, you will save a permanent cookie if you select the option "Automatic log-in" when signing up to our booking system. This enables you to book faster. You can select or deselect this option using the checkbox on "view/change booking".
Our booking dialoge will not work, when you turn the acceptance of cookies off in your browser.
Customer data
When making a booking Stena Line will require you to provide personal details to complete your particular request. If you receive a ferry crossing as a gift, Stena Line only retains booking and address data of the third party.
Information about registered customers
When you sign up to our booking system we keep the following information:
- information about fysical contact
- information about on-line contact
- demographic data
- information about preferences
All this information is retained to support our current company activity; for research and development purposes; to ensure that contact visitors who have requested information or brochures from us receive relevant information; and to improve our website.
Information about e-mail
We use e-mail addresses to reply e-mail we received. These addresses are only used for this purpose and are not shared with third parties outside Stena Line.
We only retain and use e-mail addresses which are provided to us directly or of which it is clear that they are given to us voluntarily. We shall only use an e-mail address for the purpose you have given it to us and for other marketing or servicepurposes if as you have consented to them.
