Programme
Stena Line B.V. handles the eXtra programme in the Netherlands. Hence the following terms and conditions apply. By using the eXtra card you declare to have read and accepted these conditions.
Stena Line eXtra in general
The eXtra programme was developed to reward individual travellers who frequently use Stena Line's ferry crossings to the United Kingdom, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Personal membership
Membership is only possible on personal title. Applications to join eXtra will be accepted only from individuals and not from companies or other organisations. Card holders can only earn and redeem points on services for personal use.
Registering
Application to join eXtra is free of charge. Any individual of 18 years or over can register on our site. A valid e-mail address is required. Stena Line will subsequently provide you with your eXtra membership account number and and a card containing the balance of earned and redeemed eXtra points.
Membership termination
There are three ways a membership can be terminated:
- You are at all times entitled to terminate your membership to the programme. You may do so by writing to Stena Line and returning your card. Any unused points will be lost directly after the membership is cancelled.
- Stena Line eXtra membership lasts for 1 year after registering. When you have earned 2000 points or more the membership will be extended. When the membership expires the remaining points automatically expire as well.
- In case of fraud, providing incomplete or false information, in case you do not uphold the stipulated conditions, you misuse your card holders' rights or in any other way cause damage to us or affiliated companies we are entitled to immediately terminate your membership and cancel all earned points.
The eXtra card
All Stena Line eXtra cards are released by and remain property of Stena Line B.V. Members must sign their name on the reverse of their membership card. The card is only valid when signed.
In case of loss or theft you have to block your account immediately. You can do so by contacting our eXtra Help Desk during the published opening times. You can also request a replacement card. Until the account is blocked you are solely responsible for all possible damage (for example by redeeming of points) caused by the loss or theft of your card.
Earning Points
Stena Line eXtra points can only be earned by travellers that have obtained membership before travelling and apply to the appropriate fares. Points will not be supplied for previous travels and cannot be exchanged for cash.
To earn points you need to enter your personal membership number when booking. Points will be added to your account after travelling.
You earn:
- 10 points for every euro spent on crossings and onboard facilities booked in advance (for example meals, cabins etc.). Points can only be earned on Stena Line services and apply to all published routes and fares in The Netherlands.
- 10 points for every euro spent on services acquired after boarding, provided that your card was scanned at the till upon moment of purchase. Saving points on board is only possibly on the route Hook of Holland-Harwich* and on the Scandinavian routes.
* No points can be earned on tobacco and cigarettes purchases on board our ships.
It is not possible to earn on onboard purchases after you have travelled.
Points cannot be earned on other fares, packages, groups or freight bookings.
Services acquired after boarding will not apply for eXtra points.
Points cannot be earned on bookings already paid for with points.
You can both earn points on bookings made directly via our website, call centre or bookings made by a travel agent.
Validity of points
Points are valid for 2 years after they are earned if you have a valid membership. Points that expire are automatically subtracted from your account at the last day of the month. After the membership period expires the points remain valid for an additional 2 months.
Stena Line eXtra statement
On www.stenaline.nl below 'My Stena Line' you can find a statement of your points balance and the points earned and redeemed. This statement is maintained daily. You will regularly receive a statement of earned points by e-mail.
Redeeming points
eXtra points, depending on their value, can be used for Stena Line crossings from/to Great Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia. This only applies to fares that are not combined with other means of transport or accommodations as published on www.stenaline.nl.
It is possible to redeem points for onboard services when they are booked in advance. You can only redeem points for a direct booking of your trip at Stena Line. When the travel fee exceeds the redemption value you need to pay an additional charge.
Stena Line B.V. determines which fares and routes are eligible for points' redemption and may alter during time. Points cannot be redeemed for special offers, rail & sail bookings, packages and group or freight bookings.
Redeemed point will be immediately debited from your account. The 'oldest' points will be debited first.
Amendments and cancellations
When amending or cancelling a crossing paid for with points the conditions of the appropriate fare apply; Economy, Flexi or Premium. Please look at the conditions before booking. You also have to pay for the difference in fares between the time of booking and the time of amendment.
Privacy
By becoming a member of eXtra, the member consents to Stena Line creating, maintaining and updating in electronic form data that is personal to the member. Such data will include name, address, email address, crossings made and eXtra points accumulated.
Stena Line guarantees the privacy of eXtra members and will not distribute any personal data from members to other parties. Stena Line preserves the right to use your address for marketing purposes.
Amendments in or termination of the programme by Stena Line
Stena Line preserves the right to make amendments in the eXtra programme without notification in advance. These amendments include earning points, redeeming points and third party participation in the programme. Stena Line also preserves the right to terminate the programme completely. In this case you will be notified at least 1 month in advance. Stena line is not responsible for any damage caused by amending or cancelling the programme.
General booking and travel conditions
All bookings are subject to the
Terms and Conditions applicable to the Stena Line product purchased.
